So, with features such as automatic zooming to half way on clicking the starting image, as well as being able to really customize the look and feel of the toolbar interface so it tied in with the company's website. This has taken online interactive website product presentation to a where it needs to be. The automatic zooming without having to launch a popup or another window, has taken care of the pop-up blocker issue so prevalent on the web today.

That’s Rich

Wow Customers by Adding Rich Media Elements to Your Website
By Melissa Campanelli

November 1, 2006 — Now that most of your customers have broadband, your site should offer rich media features such as zoom, virtual e-catalogs and dynamic color-swatching. It’s basically a must have for many retailers, especially those where touch and feel are critical to product conversion, says Sucharita Malpuru, a senior analyst at Forrester Research in Cambridge, Massachusetts. “Anyone in this space who doesn’t have features such as zoom and alternative view is seen as being really behind”.

A host of companies offer low-cost tools that make it easy to add rich media to your site. Virtual Iris (www.virtualiris.com) for one, sells software for enhancing pictures, e-mails, and websites with next-generation rich media elements. Prices range from free (for basic use of www.Irisize.com, it’s consumer community site, to monthly licensing fees of several thousand dollars for downloadable enterprise desktop products.

Virtual Iris Unveils “In Store” Experience for Consumers Online; Interactive Software Dramatically Improves Sales Environment for Online Sellers

Boosts Interactivity and Selling Power of Images Online While Avoiding Traditional Rich Media Creation, Implementation and Performance Hurdles

LOS ANGELES, CA — February 1, 2005 — Virtual Iris, Inc. today introduced a software solution capable of rapidly transforming static online imagery into information-rich, interactive displays in minutes, with the dual goals of helping merchants sell more and consumers make online purchases with greater ease and confidence.
“By showing more to consumers, anyone engaged in e-commerce will be able to sell more,” said it's Chief Executive Officer. “With Virtual Iris, shoppers can now pick up, rotate, examine, and zoom in on specific product features with unprecedented ‘real world’ feel, speed, and ease. The breakthrough on the ‘back end’ is that Virtual Iris provides online vendors and individual sellers the ability to create this functionality themselves in minutes for every product image on any site, banner, or email, without the overhead, capacity requirements, or performance degradation associated with existing imaging solutions. Virtual Iris provides this experience without requiring consumers to load any plug-in software at all.”

The “In-Store” Experience — Online, Instantly and Without Plug-ins

With “Irisized” images, consumers can shop online as if products are in their hands, zooming, moving and rotating them with the aid of a highly intuitive Touchpad or Toolbar. In addition, consumers can change the colors or patterns of images such as shoes and apparel; access text or close-up visual information about particular product features; and assess product dimensions with the drag of a mouse — the distance between armrests on a sofa, for example, or between front and rear fenders of an automobile. Virtual Iris also improves online buy flow — shoppers can instantly purchase an “Irisized” item from an image, email or banner ad in fewer clicks than typically required by online retail or auction sites. With no plug-ins required, “Irisized” images load instantaneously and can be viewed immediately on almost any computer.
